Mouse

Mouse was born as Maisald Wayfar in the villain's household that schemed to trick his mother into slavery, dispose of his grandparents, and steal the Wayfar trading business and family assets. He earned his nickname because of his uncanny, almost magical ability to be unheard and unseen. Both were necessary skills for survival in his master's household and the streets of Corvus.

Almost six years before the events of the story, Mouse and his mother escaped the monstrous fate the master intended for him and in the process, the master and a vile and detestable lord had been slain. In the winter before he would turn eleven. The Slave Hunters found him and his mother. The murder of his mother in the tunnels beneath Corvus triggered an explosive awakening of power and an event noticed by all sesnitive to magic in the city.

  • How had the explosive and painful awakening of his powers affected Mouse?
  • Will he accept Danica?
  • How can he recover from all that has happened?

Danica Cathastrom

Danica was a prodigy at the profession of arms. She passed her Trials at 13, apprenticed to the SunHawks at 14, commanded a squadron of scouts at 19, promoted to colonel before she was 25, and a general at 29. She was the She-Wolf of Kartege and the victor at Wolferd Crossing but her greatest accomplishment was her daughter Asira.

At the start of our story, Danica felt she had seen enough war for several lifetimes and was reevaluating her choice for a career in the profession of arms. An attack by slavers and the abduction of her daughter draws her into the fray one more time.

    Asira

Asira had done well in the Trials, well enough to press her mother to be enrolled in Trials training. She would be twelve soon and come into her own power. Only one problem, she had been abducted by slavers and her mother was probabnly going to kill her for getting caught.

Unlucky for them but lucky for Asira, she had been abducted with four of her friends. They find themselves forcibly carried east to the Beasts homeland and rely on each other to survive along with the hundreds of others trapped with them.

    • What do their captors have planned?
    • The children are trundled along in a study locked caravan.
    • Their unity is their strength, but is it enough?

    Mags

Gaelin's Port is Mags's home and she has quite the reputation as a singer and, as far as the local gangs are concerned, a trouble maker. Her stand against the depravities and villany lead to danger, and Mouse, doing what he does best and what Danica hates, inserts himself into the core of the action and the rescue of Mags!

Mags captures Mouse's and Danica's interest. Mouse for her music and what she could teach him. And Danica is drawn her striking looks and the powerful aura of the tavern singer. Underneath it all was the teasing familarity Mags has evoked in her mind and heart!
